I am going to start RBG back up for Critical Mass. That being said, it is not going to be the time we get everyones 3 wins in or cap toons. It will be for rating and being good at pvp. We will start fairly casual as everyone learns and gears, but as the season progresses I will get more serious.
That being said, I am here to help people get better at pvp. I will queue arena with you and if I can talk about what your role is for whatever class you play.
I want everyone interested in RBGs to start doing arena regularly (2s does not count). I mean 3s and 5s. Thats where you can get better at pvp. 3s will help more with individual skill and 5s will help more with coordination/teamwork in a more rbg teamfight like setting. I have my lock and hpally in the guild and can queue on either with whoever wants help. I can see you play and give feed back and if I don't know enough about your class I can point you to someone who does.
Towards the end of the season there will be class restrictions and you need to pull certain numbers. Just because you are geared won't be a guarantee you can come later down the road.
I will briefly explain the class roles of the popular rbg classes
locks/spriests: do as much dmg as possible and cc (spriest is also a main dispeller with MD and a good peeler)
DK: target caller
Warrior: spin flags and spam execute
rogue: flag carrier/base sitter
hunter: base sitter
frost mage: base sitter/cc
healers should be obvious, other classes that aren't listed are viable but seen less often than these.
Comps are generally based on the current meta of the season. I haven't queued any high rated games yet so I'm not too sure about it right now but the last two seasons were lock/spriest dominant so its safe to go with that. The only really good comp I know of right now is double fire mage but it requires alot of setup and coordination. Its a harder comp to run so I will most likely stick with a dot cleave.
Watch the video linked below and really pay attention. I'd say watch once for fun and then watch it again and really pay attention to communication and how they chain cc together and how they cross communicate it.
